National Maple Syrup Day Cards

An unofficial food observance celebrated to honor maple syrup β€” a traditional North American sweetener. The practice of tapping maple trees and boiling sap to make syrup originated with Indigenous peoples of northeastern North America and was adopted and adapted by European colonists. Over the 18th and 19th centuries maple sugaring developed into a regional industry, especially in New England and eastern Canada (notably Quebec). National Maple Syrup Day spotlights the culinary uses of maple syrup, the cultural and historical importance of maple sugaring, and supports small-scale and commercial maple producers.
