Apple Crumble Day Cards
An informal food observance celebrating the classic dessert apple crumble. The crumble (a baked fruit filling topped with a crumbly mixture of flour, butter and sometimes oats or sugar) became especially popular in the United Kingdom during and after World War II when rationing made pies and pastry less practical. Apple Crumble Day honours home baking traditions, seasonal apple harvests and comfort-food culture; it is promoted by food blogs, bakeries and cooking enthusiasts rather than being an official, government-recognized holiday.
